Obituary for David Stuard

David S. Stuard, 69-year-old resident of the VA Health Care System in St. Cloud, MN formerly of Brainerd, MN passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at the VA Health Care System. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 12 ,2018 at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Harvey Peterson officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home.
David was born on February 4, 1949 in Brainerd to Warren and Faye (Babcock) Stuard. He graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1967. After graduation, he joined US Airforce and was deployed to Thailand, where he worked as a jet mechanic on the jets used in the Vietnam War. David was a “jack of all trades” and worked in various forms of employment. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed playing cards and reminiscing with his family & friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his thirst for knowledge.
David is survived by his children, Melissa (Shawn) Fetter of Brainerd, MN, Teala Reich of Chesepke, VA, David W. Stuard of Superior, WI; Dodie (Rob) Roy of New Hope, MN, Gary Olson of Duluth, MN, Kenny Olson of Minnespolis, MN; siblings, Janeen (Charles) DeRosier of Brainerd, MN, Sherry (James) Kleinschmidt of Brainerd, MN, Kristi (Tom) Taylor of Brainerd, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements are with the Halvorson- Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.
