Obituary for Bettyjo Ann Marshall

Bettyjo Ann Marshall, age 88, of Pillager, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Betty was born on December 4, 1931 in Becker Township to Robert & Gracie (Richmond) Oliphant. She married the love of her life, Robert Marshall on July 14, 1956. Betty has been a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She was a member of the Ladie’s Aide, and enjoyed helping with luncheons and dinner meals. Betty also worked at Maddens for over 20 years as a chef.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Bob; children: Michael (Miriam) Rosvold, Paula (Rosvold) (Jim) Harting, Mary (Lester) Matrick, Lori (Marshall) (Tim) Mills, Gail (Charles) Jordan, Doug (Glenna Brown) Marshall, Kelly (Lizabeth) Marshall, Brian (Monika Steinman) Marshall, Bruce (Sherryjo) Marshall; siblings: Dale Oliphant, Galen (Bonita) Oliphant, Bruce (Mary) Oliphant, Sharon Akervik, Gary (Jan) Oliphant, Diane (Sami) Talhami; 20 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; niece, Karen Sullivan; nephew, Bob Sullivan; and lots of other nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bernard Rosvold; brothers: Marvin and Ralph and an infant brother; sisters: Ardith Sullivan, Jane Salfisberg.
Funeral service for Betty will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 11AM at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Pillager, at Wildwood Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or Lutheran World Relief.

So very sorry for loss. Bettyjo was the oldest living grandchild of John and Lottie. Uncle Burt took us fishing once, and instead of going back to his house, we stopped at Bettyjo's and she fried them up for us. She acted like that was a perfectly normal thing to do.
