Bonnie Carlson was born December 28, 1948 in Brainerd, MN to Bennie Johnson and Thelma Swelland. She attended the country schoolhouse east of town through the 4th grade. Bonnie had a kind heart and was quite the social butterfly.

Bonnie was an angel to my family when she was at Home Instead. She was my mother’s favorite caregiver and for good reason! Bonnie would sing hymns with her, go through old photo albums and listen, would talk about the old days in Brainerd, etc! Bonnie made all of us feel good when we’d visit our mother. She was always kind, always busy. We’d say Bonnie, sit down! You don’t need to do that! But she’d always be busy cleaning up or puttering in the kitchen so that we could be spending time directly with our mom. Last year I asked her if she would be able to take a vacation? And she told me about some time with her daughters that she was looking forward to, a cruise I believe. And I thought how lucky her daughters are to have her.
My sympathies to all of the family. We are so grateful for the life of Bonnie Carlson. Thank you for sharing her with us.
Sue Berger, for all of the children of Karen Cowie

Thank you so much Sue! My mom always said she would treat her clients the exact way she would want her mother treated. My mom’s love for her clients was genuine.

Bonnie was a sweet lady that always took the time to visit when I would run into her, and always had a smile on her face! You all are in my thoughts and prayers!
