Obituary for Delores M Pipek

Delores M. Pipek, age 90, of Staples passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Lakewood Health Care System in Staples. She was born on February 19, 1928 to Matilda (Wrede) and Charles Martin in Staples, MN. She married George E. Pipek on October 13, 1950. Together they raised five children.
She especially loved the great outdoors! She spent her summers golfing and won many tournaments over the years. She was an avid skier, bow hunter, and ice skater. Softball, bowling, and spearing were other activities she enjoyed throughout the years. Delores loved gardening and prided herself on preparing meals from the garden. During the summer months, her deck was beautifully arranged with spectacular flowers. Above all, her real passion was reading. Delores spent many years fighting cancer and other illnesses, and all the while she never complained. She was a warrior and a hero who will be terribly missed by many!

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and brother Gerald Martin.

Delores will be deeply missed by her children, Karen (Tom) Schuster of Plains, MT, Gary (Karen) Pipek of Staples, Dan (Anna) Pipek of Staples, Diane (Chuck) Gillespie of Staples, Pam (Greg) Schmitz of Perham; 24 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lee (Ken) Becker and Darlene(Tootie) (Rollie) Gode; brother, Ray (Angie) Martin.

Mass of Christian Burial for Delores will be held 11:00 am on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Gabriel Walz presiding. A Rosary will be held at 9:00am followed by a gathering of family and friends from 9:30-11:00am also at the church. Interment Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
