Dear Kelly and Jayme: Sending love and hugs to you and your families regarding the loss of Denny. So hard to believe the last of the Holmes boys is gone. Nancy and I were reminiscing about race car 55 and Denny and Wayne. Many good memories of the racetrack and glad Grandpa Holmes built that for his sons, if I remember correctly. Denny, being the youngest, must have had many pranks and jokes played on him by the other kids. He was always genial and happy in my memories, and I think he went in for pie with Grandma Holmes with my dad Don every Thursday for awhile. When I was 14 he often picked me up to babysit you little kids (or maybe this was before Jayme) while Dianne went to nursing school. This is going waaay back. I am thankful for the memories and hope you and your family are sustained by them also. He had a wonderful family, and I am thankful for the loving care he received from you all and the nursing home he was at. My heart is with you today and I was hoping, up to this morning, to make it to the funeral, but road conditions are not favorable today. I have had my fair share of accidents and not sure I am ready for my car to look like one of the stock cars quite yet :). Take care and love — Judy and Fred Potthoff

Jayme and Kelly, I am so very sorry, with the expected snow coming I won't be coming to the funeral. I have so many memories that make me smile, most from the race track and when he worked at the shop next to Grandma & Grandpa's house. May time and sweet memories you have help heal your hearts. love, deb
