Obituary for Judith Fae Witta

Judy Witta, age 71 passed away in Brainerd after a short illness with cancer. She was the daughter of Arvid and Bertha Anderson-deceased. She had 6 older brothers, Donald (Diane) of Baxter, Dale (Sally) both deceased, Larry deceased, Penny Bottorff of Baxter, Clinton (Linda) of Brainerd, Bob (Peggy) of Motley, Arnold (Louise) of Brainerd, and 23 nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Judy will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Baxter. Visitation Wednesday 5:30-7:30pm at the Halvorson Taylor Life Events Center, 512 S. 8th St. in Brainerd and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Judy was married for 28 years to Henry Witta who passed away in 2008. They had no children. Growing up Judy attended First Baptist Church. She studied piano with Mrs. H.C. Henneman until she moved after graduation from Brainerd High School to attend Pillsbury Baptist Bible college in Owatonna. There she received her Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in Piano and Bible. She furthered her education at the University of Minnesota majoring in Piano Performance.
While attending the University of Minnesota she joined Fourth Baptist Church where she was a member and became the organist for 37 years. She worked in accounting for many years for Italgrani, McLean Midwest Hoffman and Pentair. When she retired in 2014 she moved back to Brainerd to live with her family. She served at First Baptist Church in the music area and volunteered playing piano at Lake Region Christian School and in the lobby at the Brainerd Hospital as well as various nursing homes in the area. She also accompanied her brother’s Stony Brook Orchestra. Judy was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews who always received a birthday card with $5.00 inside. Go Vikings! Judy loved the Vikings.
After becoming a Christian at the age of 8, she dedicated her life to serving her Lord in music for the rest of her life. To God be the Glory!
