MILES ODDEN

I spent nearly all of my childhood summers in Minnesota and knew this man as my cousin. He was the intelligent guy that could fix all kinds of electrical devices despite being color blind. He loved music and taught himself to play a few instruments. He had no fear and put his young body through a lot. Falling from far heights out of a tree, a few knarly motorcycle crashes, getting run over by a truck and at least one car accident I was in with him. I remember the song Let The Good Times Roll by the Cars was playing when it happened. Some thought he was crazy, I just saw a person that lived on the edge and loved every minute of it. The extended family was quite moral and so in an environment where I just didn't fit in, he was there to induct me into the blacksheep club. Didn't make an effort to keep our bond into adulthood because we just had no reason to. I hope he was at peace when it ended. Thanks for accepting me for who I was when I needed it.

Kris was always kind to me, the "city cousin." He laughed easily and took pleasure in many things. He took wonderful care of his dogs and he played music beautifully. I'm thankful for my childhood memories of him. Danielle Odden
