Obituary

Ocel, Robert J."Humbum", age 90, formerly of Coon Rapids, passed away on September 26, 2020. He will be deeply missed by his children, Chris Coletta, Terry (Jim) Klosterman, Tom (Peg) Ocel and grandchildren Brigon, Kelli, Ben and Kate. Bob is preceded in death by Betty, his wife of 60 years, parents Steven and Anna Ocel, brothers Richie and Stevie, and little sister Mary Ann Whiteside. Due to Covid19, a private interment will occur at Fort Snelling and a celebration of his life will be scheduled for summer 2021 at his beloved lake. Both Bob and Betty died from the “long goodbye” of Alzheimer’s.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in their names to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://act.alz.org/goto/TheKlostermans. We will find the first survivor of this horrible disease! Immense thanks to Crosby's Heartwood Senior Living and the Cuyuna Medical Center and Hospice.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at St. Katherine Drexel Church, located at 7101 143rd Ave. Suite G Ramsey, MN. Burial will take place prior to the service on Thursday at 9 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

My heart is warmed by the memories of blueberry picking, bonfires and laughter at the lake, and the unmistakable love he showed for his family. My heart is at peace knowing he was a man of Faith. He was a blessing to so many. He was the very first person I knew with ‘seatbelts’ in the car. I can still feel the awe I felt as he explained how he had installed them himself after seeing them in airplanes. He was pretty sure everyone should get them! Thoughts and prayers are with all his family. Lynda Bergeron

Bob was a beloved member of our Heartwood Arbors "Memory Care" extended family. Always cheerful, always so funny, always so congenial. Oftentimes, he joined us on walks down the halls. He was so energetic and always talked of "getting a job" - he was one ambitious man. :) Many times we invited Bob to join us in our card games with Mom, and we pulled him up a chair, and he came and sat with us, and just enjoyed being a part of the fun. His sweet smile, his energy, and his great humor will be greatly missed. We saw him the day before he passed and he was happy and busy, as always.

We are so very sorry for your loss. The Stark Family, Miss Sally, Steve and Susan
