Obituary for Seth Schardin

Seth Schardin 17-year-old resident of Brainerd, MN went to be with his heavenly father unexpectedly Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Steve Benson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 12 from 5–7 PM at Zion Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday also at the church. Please wear purple, as it was Seth’s favorite color.

Seth was born on November 4, 2001 in Sioux Falls, SD to Scott and Kristi Schardin. He attended Brainerd High School and was currently in the 11th grade. Seth was a strong man with an infectious smile, and the light of so many lives. He had a great sense of humor and artistic abilities. He loved music of all genres. Seth’s hobbies included swimming, bowling, boating, truck & bus rides and watching the Minnesota Wild.

Seth is survived by his parents; siblings, Krista Schardin, Scottie Schardin, Jeremy (Christina) Janacek, Bryan (Toni) Janacek, Chantel Schardin, Boo; many nieces & nephews; grandparents, Vern Murphy, Jeanette Simmonds; and his dog, Bo.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Simmonds, and Jean Murphy.

Arrangements are with the Halvorson Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN.
