A Man- Loyal, strong and stubborn

A Husband- Best friend, provider and companion

A Father- caring, tough love and lessons to teach

A Friend- Opinionated and no sugar coating but always there when in need

An Uncle, Brother, Grandpa, an Employee and a Sportsman.
If you know my stepdad Steve at all, you know these word describe him well.
A father that he didn’t have to be, but choose to.
Always there, his tough love, life lessons and hard work helped make me into the man I am today.
His hard work and loyalty was second to none.
Cuts, broken bones or sick the guy never stopped working.
A sportsman, what can I say, if you knew Tilly (Steve) you know he loved the outdoors.
Hunting, fishing or just relaxing, that’s where he wanted to be.
I think I may have followed in those footsteps a bit also.
In my younger years we may not have always seen eye to eye, but he was someone I always looked up to.
Probably the most loyal, hard working person I’ve ever known.
A couple of traits I like to think I picked up.
And of course fishing, the man could fish and loved to do it.
Another trait I picked up from him.
A bunch of my random thoughts this morning 12/19/2018.
Got the call from mom this morning that I had been dreading.
Steve has passed early this morning.
Prayers to my mom and the rest of my family through this tough time.
And some much needed peace and comfort to Steve.
I’m sure he’s up there fishin already, finding all the good spots to take us all to when we get there.
Tight lines Steve, save some for me...

So sorry to here that Steve has passed. My sincere condolences to the family. My relationship with Steve evolved in the mid 70s to early 80s in the Northfield Softball League. He took care and managed some of the best teams Northfield has ever produced. We were a big family then and his passion for putting winning teams on the field was very high, along with his ability to control our young enthusiasm in times away from the field. Always sad to loose a former teammate. Again my condolences.

Fred and my heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your family! Steve was a very kind and generous person with his friendship, craft, sport and time. We will always have our 3 season porch to remember him by. He designed and built it and I couldn't ask for anything better. Last time he and I talked, we were discussing next summer's plan, to put windows in as we only wanted screens this last build. He was always very caring about what was happening with Fred and I, always laughing at Fred and me, because I could never make up my mind as to what I wanted. Fred was always a target, just because it was easy, a lot of things to comment on and Steve did that well. The up North place will not be the same without him. Know that this Holiday Season, Steve and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you soon.

Our Condolences to the family. Steve was one of my best friends when we were young, we got in a lot of trouble together and had a lot of fun. My worst and best memory's both happened at the same time we were playing in the river which was forbidden and of course Steve couldn't swim very well and he went down, I went out to where I last saw him and dove down and found him and brought him to shore where he choked a little and spit up some water. Of course we made a packed not to tell our parents, but that din't work out so well and we were all grounded. (I found I few old pictures and thought I would post them the first one says April 1956 on it the two with the cake are June 25 1956 the last one says February 1957)
Thanks for the great times Steve you will be missed.
